300 Tang Poems - Inked Echoes

Inked echoes

Inked echoes:
Tang verse for young readers

300 Tang Dynasty poems are presented as Chinese calligraphy and also paired with English translations alongside the original Chinese text. These poems are primarily intended for school-age children and early learners of Chinese culture.

The poems capture a wide range of social and emotional issues common among the Tang dynasty poets (AD 618-907).

Both the calligraphy and translations are by Wenguang Shao, based on his extensive experience and research.

Short welcome message (from the author)

Welcome. I’m Wenguang Shao.
Inked Echoes brings together nearly 300 Tang Dynasty poems in my
own calligraphy and English translation. This book is designed for young
readers, Chinese learners, and anyone who loves the beauty of brush and
verse.
Inside you’ll find two ways in: English translation first, or traditional
Chinese calligraphy from back to front. Every poem is cross‑referenced,
and each calligraphy page includes typed Chinese characters to help you
recognise every word.
Whether you’re learning Chinese, looking for a meaningful gift, or
simply curious – I hope this book becomes a quiet companion on your shelf.
